When special offers is enabled, the special offer products box will be displayed in the side panel of your shop and the special offers image is displayed with the product.
You can set how many products you would like the system to display in the Layout settings.
To set a product as a special offer, edit a product and tick the special offers checkbox.

A: This image can be changed in Control panel >> Image management >> System images
